IC: You find yourself on a large farm in autumn. The weather is brisk and cool, and there seems to be some sort of fall festival going on: there's pumpkin-carving, corn mazes, hayrides, bobbing for apples, you name it! What do you do?</i>

OOC: Open post! Bring in your characters from any and all games/verses/timelines/etc. Canon, OC, AU, crack... it's all good. There really aren't any rules to this, other than "don't do things to keep other players from having fun", like godmodding, fourthwalling without permission, or destroying the farm. (THAT SAID, if you want your character to destroy something/kill someone/whatever and you can't find another player to play it out with, feel free to just make up an item/NPC for them to ruin. Just keep it to your own thread-- or start a new thread-- so that people who don't want to have their characters react to it don't have to.) Other than that, comment to whoever you want, with whoever you want, in any format that you want (actionspam/prose/etc.). The setting is flexible-- it's a huge property with woods, fields, barns, a farmhouse, etc., so make up plausible items/sights/attractions/etc. at your leisure. If you want to know if you can do something, the answer is YES.

[have a little girl wandering around, looking alert and confused]

... Mom?
Astor! [Brb running over.] There you are. I was so worried.

[Rita glances around.] Have you seen your brother?
Mom!

... I don't know where he is. He wasn't with me.
He wasn't with you. [She's taking her hand.] Let's take a look around. He couldn't have gotten far.
[What does a nightmare do at a time like this? Carving up the most hideous, toothy pumpkin ever is a good start.]

[Never let it be said that nightmares can't be artistic.]
[in ur stalker space, watching u carve.]

[that's a mighty fine knife you have there.]

[head.]

[tilt.]
[hey no, this was his stalker space first, shoo.]

[just give him a few seconds to finish giving the pumpkin another eye....mouth....something.]

[....okay, why are you still standing there, though.]
Give me a break, it's my first try.
[Rose arches a brow at the pumpkin before her. Then she looks at what Cori is doing.]

What is the whole point of carving these things again?
To give all the little kids a chance to play with knives, I'm assuming.

[Aaaand ta-da~ One more eye full of teeth and he's done.] I doubt anyone these days even knows for sure. The myths are long forgotten and the tradition's become completely warped, as they usually are.
[Shrugs and picks up her dagger and starts carving her own pumpkin.]

As what often happens with most myths.

[Wait, is she starting to carve out a dragon's head?]
[Heads up, nightmare. It looks like you're attracting an admiring audience. An audience of one blue-haired-but-otherwise-typical-looking teen boy, who flashes a toothy grin fit to rival the pumpkin's.]

Wicked jack-o-lantern, man! He looks like a dentist's worst nightmare.
[Well someone is wondering around the corn maze. It's actually quite peaceful here.]
I think this is the first one of these I've seen that didn't look like it came right outta some cheap horror flick.

[What were you saying about peaceful, Rose? Birdie here is just gonna touch down on one of the cornstalks right now, 'sup.]
I think it is really nice actually.

[She looks over to Matthew and arches a brow.]

Wouldn't the scarecrows bother you?
Oh yeah. I fly in fear everytime I run into mister tall, dark, and made of straw over there.

[Aaand head's up! She totally won't mind having a little passenger on her shoulder, right?] We disembowel the sorry bastards for nesting material. People are just a little slower to learn than birds are.
[At least he's smaller than another raven she knows. She doesn't mind, really. She give a soft chuckle.]

You have made your point.
[He's awesomely travel sized for her convenience! <3]

So what brings you all the way out here?
[Shrugs some]

Honestly, I do not know. I just ended up here somehow.
[There is a white, robotic panther sitting on top of a large stack of hay-bales where everyone can see it. Wait... Is it actually waving a paw at everyone?

[Also, anyone nearby who might have a cellphone with access to their blog would instantly have friend requests from a goodkitteh]
[so used to this stuff it's not even funny]

[she's just kind of... milling around, examining the pumpkins]
[Kurt's not so used to this stuff, but he's seen enough weirdness in his time with the X-Men to take this in stride. he sidles up, gives a cautious but friendly greeting.]

Excuse me. Could you tell me where we are? I seem to have gotten myself, er...a bit lost.
Are you new?

[assuming everybody is from the community hooooo]
[it's a reasonable assumption! not that Kurt has any clue what she's actually talking about.]

New? [sheepish grin] I guess I am. Is this some sort of celebration?
... You could call it that. It's a virus.
[cue confusion!]

English may not be my first language, but I'm pretty sure a virus is never something to celebrate.

[OOC: Also forgot to mention he's not blue and fuzzy atm! Kind of an important detail, lol.]
